City police have arrested six persons in connection with the murder of an All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) functionary in Red Hills on Sunday. Kottaisamy (49) of Solaiyamman Nagar was the joint secretary of Sholavaram unit of Amma Peravai.
On Sunday, he was hacked to death by his friends when they went to Pammadukulam village to drink. Personal rivalry is reported to be the motive behind the murder. This was the second attack on Kottaisamy, police said, adding that in June, he was attacked by a gang but managed to escape.
