Sahitya Academy awards announced

The Karnataka Sahitya Academy on Tuesday announced awards for works published in 2013.

Rajani Narahalli has won the award for her novel ‘Atmavruttanta’, M.S. Sriram for his collection of short stories ‘Salman Khanana Difficulteesu’ and Subbu Holeyar for poetry collection ‘Ellara Beralalloo Antikonda Dhukhave..’.

K.Y. Narayanaswamy has bagged the award for his popular play ‘Anabhigna Shakuntala’ and Kuppe Nagaraj for his autobiography ‘Alemariya Antaranga’.

Apart from these, the Academy in its meeting on Tuesday decided to award five noted litterateurs its honorary award for 2014. They are noted historian S. Settar, noted rationalist and author G. Ramakrishna, renowned poets Subraya Chokkadi, Savita Nagabhushana and Prof. Sukanya Maruti, a release from the Karnataka Sahitya Academy said.
