September 25, 2016 12:00 am | Updated November 01, 2016 08:44 pm IST - BENGALURU:

An RTI activist has lodged a complaint against G. Padmavathy, an mayoral aspirant, from Prakash Nagar ward claiming there are false declarations in her affidavits filed in 2010 and 2015 during the Assembly and BBMP elections.

“She has falsely declared that she is from the ‘BCMB’ category by showing that she is from below poverty line,” alleged K. Shivaramanna, the RTI activist.

“She has declared income tax and has property in different places, including commercial ones,” he said, questioning how the mayoral aspirant could be below poverty line in such a case.

Consequently, he has filed a complaint with the Regional Commissioner.

Complaint

“I am also going to file a complaint with the Anti Corruption Bureau seeking an investigation against revenue officials who provided her with the BCMB certificate,” Mr. Shivaramanna said.
