Policeman falls from train, dies

A 48-year-old head constable was killed on Tuesday night after he fell from a moving train near the Yeshwantpur railway yard.

Sources said the deceased, Govindarajaiah, was standing near the door of a Tumakuru-bound train, which he had boarded at 7.30 p.m.

Sub-inspector Bheemanna of the Yeshwantpur Railway Police said the train was packed and Govindarajaiah may have lost his balance. He sustained head injuries and died on the spot. He had been attached to Yeshwantpur traffic police station since 2002.
