The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike will be conducting a massive cleaning drive on the entire circumference of the Outer Ring Road on Saturday. This 62-km road is connected to several national highways.
“Other than pothole issues and removal of silt, which will be done in another phase, every other cleaning activity will be undertaken. We will be clearing up debris and carrying out minor de-silting,” said Subodh Yadav, Special Commissioner, Solid Waste Management, BBMP.
T.M. Vijay Bhaskar, additional chief secretary, Urban Development, said that a drive of such a scale was being done because the ORR was under the guardianship of the Bangalore Development Authority until a year ago, before it was transferred to the BBMP.
