‘Nyaya Yatra’ to visit Bengaluru

February 08, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 07:38 am IST - Bengaluru:

Nyaya Yatra, a march by members of the Forum of Fast Justice (FFJ) aimed at creating nationwide awareness for a speedy, fair and transparent justice system, will arrive in Bengaluru on Thursday.

Hundreds of members, in two motorcades, will take out a road show on Friday and also submit a memorandum to the Chief Justice of Karnataka and the Governor, appealing for judicial reforms by the Centre.

Heading towards Kanyakumari

The second route of Nyaya Yatra commenced on January 30 at Raj Ghat, New Delhi, and is heading towards Kanyakumari. It has already passed through several districts in Karnataka.

The Yatra will conclude at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi where the annual national convention will be held on March 5 and 6.

More than 250 delegates from over 100 societies from across the country will participate.

The Children’s Rights Initiative for Shared Parenting and the National Litigant Bench, both Bengaluru-based non-governmental organisations, are supporting the Yatra. They have demanded a speedy, transparent and effective Judiciary to hear three crore cases pending before various high courts and subordinate courts.
