Man kills himself at NIMHANS

The Siddapura police have booked a case of negligence against doctors at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience after a 28-year-old man, who had been admitted to the de-addiction centre, killed himself on the campus on Thursday.

His body was found hanging from the hospital grills around 4.30 a.m. Vijay Kumar had been brought to NIMHANS about a month ago for treatment for his various addictions. After a month of treatment in the psychiatry ward, he was shifted to the de-addiction centre on August 24.

His mother, Dhanalakshmi, filed a complaint against the doctor and staff of the centrewith the Siddapura police station.
