Just a courtesy call, nothing to do with politics, says BSY

June 24, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 12:58 pm IST - BENGALURU:

Denying allegations that the Bharatiya Janata Party was wooing rebel Congress leaders, BJP State president B.S. Yeddyurappa on Thursday said the party had not invited any Congress leader to join.

He told reporters that close aides of Congress leaders V. Srinivas Prasad and M.H. Ambareesh, had called him. “But, it was just a courtesy call and had nothing to do with politics,” he said.

Describing Mr. Prasad as one of the most senior and experienced leaders, Mr. Yeddyurappa said: “I am too small a person to give him political advice. If I try to advise such a veteran, it would amount to insulting him.” He said the BJP would not depend on crisis in other parties to come to power.
