Independence Day series and contest

August 09, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 08:33 am IST - BENGALURU:

The Hindu in School in association with Kokuyo Camlin has been carrying Independence Day Series and Contest in the School Edition for the benefit of the student subscribers.

From important milestones to the lives of freedom fighters, there is so much to learn about the Independence struggle. The freedom that we enjoy today was made possible due to the grit and determination of thousands of people who stood for the collective rights of the people.

In the run-up to August 15, The Hindu in School, in association with Kokuyo Camlin, brings to the students a 9-part special series and contest for Independence Day, out of which 6 parts have already been carried.

Watch out for page 5 of The Hindu in School on August 10, 12 and 15, as we feature insightful articles that detail different aspects of the freedom movement.

You don’t have to stop with just being an inquisitive reader. You will get a chance to express your gratitude to a freedom fighter whose life has inspired you in some way. Participate in our contest by sending a 50-word ‘Thank You Note’ to your favourite freedom fighter. There are many attractive prizes to be won: five first, second and third prizes, besides 50 consolation prizes.

Write it on paper with a pen, scan the essay and mail to idcamlincontest@thehindu.co.in by August 10 along with a passport-size photo. Mention your name, class, school and city in the scanned copy as well as in the body of the email. The total size of the attachment(s) should not exceed 2MB.
