The Hoskote police have arrested three more persons in connection with the brutal attack on the three minor boys – all aged 14, who were accused of shop lifting on June 30.

The accused have been identified as Nooruddin, Asif and Abdul. The three accused were arrested on Sunday night. With their arrest, the total number of arrests made in the case has increased to seven.

The Hoskote police said the accused abducted the three boys to their shop, where they administered electric shocks. The three minors were later taken in a car to an isolated place, where they were stripped and beaten up mercilessly. The accused had even video recorded the torture on their mobile phone and circulated the same as a warning against shop lifting.

The boys were later admitted to government hospital. The police were initially reluctant to take action though the family members of the three minors filed a complaint.

Soon after the incident was highlighted in the media, senior police officials swung into action and conducted a detailed probe, following which sub-inspector Dayanand, and constables Raju and Jayaram were suspended on charges of dereliction of duty.
