Several areas of south-east Bengaluru, inlcuding Kodichikkanahalli, Devarachikkanahalli, Manjunatha Layout, Gulbarga Colony, Munneshwara Layout and Akshaya Nagar in Bomanahalli zone were completely flooded, caused by overflowing water from the Madiwala Lake. Hongasandra, narrow bylanes of Garvebhavipalya, Hosur Road, Daddy’s Garden, a private residential layout with over 100 villas in Hebbagodi and Bannerghatta Road were also flooded with waist-high water. Residents of these areas were stranded and some were rescued by the personnel of Fire and Emergency Services.
