The Visakhapatnam District Cricket Association on Wednesday felicitated outgoing Collector and its honorary president N. Yuvaraj.

Working president and MLA P. Vishnukumar Raju thanked Mr. Yuvaraj for his help in VDCA extending its lease over the land on which the ACA-VDCA stadium stands and for allotting three sites in the city and rural areas for extending cricket activity. He also complemented Mr. Yuvaraj for dealing with people’s representatives despite some being egoistic.

Mr. Vishnukumar Raju also informed that the long-pending issue of an MoU between ACA and VDCA would be resolved soon, well before the changes that would take place due to the Supreme Court acceptance of the Justice Lodha Committee report.

Mr. Yuvraj, while replying to the felicitations said he was leaving with very good memories from his three-and-a-half years of stay in the district. “It was team work and the public are the first members in my team and I was also helped by a bunch of young and energetic officers”, he said.

Vice-president of VDCA D.S. Varma recalled how prompt Mr. Yuvaraj was in dealing with issues and responding to the people. Another vice-president T.S.R. Prasad said Mr. Yuvaraj won over the people with his pleasant demeanour and constantly keeping track of issues and developments in the district.

Veteran sports writer and commentator and former Rector of Andhra University A. Vice-president and general secretary in-charge S.S.R.K. Prasad also spoke. Several office-bearers of the VDCA and its affiliated clubs participated.
