Setting a trend, the first case of same sex marriage has come to light in the city.

According to the Gajuwaka police, a 32-year-old woman eloped with an 18-year-old girl and reportedly tied the knot in Tirupati recently.

However, the matter came to light on Saturday when they both returned home. According to reports from various sources, Teja (32) of Yatapalem village under Gajuwaka police limits allegedly lured the 18-year-old of the same area and took her to Tirupathi, where they got married. The family members of the 18-year-old claimed that she was a minor and was fraudulently lured by Teja. They also allegedly beat up Teja when they learnt about the incident, and later handed her over to the Gajuwaka police.
