Rs. 35 crore for Brahmin welfare

A number of welfare schemes have been taken up with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu sanctioning Rs.35 crore this year for the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation, its Managing Director Changavalli Venkat has said.

Addressing a district convention to create awareness on the programmes here on Sunday, he said A. P. Brahmin Credit Co-operative Society (APBCCS) was also formed.

Meetings were being conducted at district level to create awareness on scholarships to poor and meritorious students, welfare pensions, health insurance and skill, among other things. Mr. Venkat said so far six meetings were conducted in Visakhapatnam.
