A State-level meeting of the Tribal Welfare Ashram School Contract Residential Teachers’ Association here on Sunday demanded regularisation and increase in salaries.
Though over 1500 CRTs were working in the State for years the pay of secondary grade teachers was a mere Rs.4500 and that of school assistant Rs.5500.
Stating that though the government had promised regularisation and increase in salaries after coming to power nothing materialised so far the CRTs submitted a memorandum to MLC Sriramu Surya Rao who addressed them. They elected a 20-member new executive with MLC M.V.S. Sarma as honorary president, UTF vice-president Vijayagowri as honorary president, E. Nookaraju and E. Bhaskara Rao as State president and general secretary respectively.
