Former MLA’s wife arrested on cheating charge

The Three-Town Police arrested retired police officer (DSP) P. Vijaya, who is also the wife a former MLA Gandi Babji, for cheating unemployed youth by promising employment in various sectors.

Sub-Inspector G.D. Babu said that Vijaya had collected Rs. 4.8 lakh from the unemployed youth in 2013 and was not responding to the phone calls made by the youth.

The duped youth lodged a complaint to former city police Chief Amit Garg and the cops have registered a case against her.

Based on the instructions of City Police Commissioner T. Yoganand, the cops arrested Vijaya on Saturday night, and subsequently she was admitted to King George Hospital, as she complained of chest pain on Sunday.
