Ex-bank manager jailed for fraud

Special judge for CBI cases, Visakhapatnam, G. Sunitha, on Thursday sentenced former branch manager of Andhra Bank and two others to imprisonment for defrauding the bank. Deputy General Manager of the bank was acquitted in the case.

Those convicted were former branch manager of Andhra Bank, Kothapet (Guntur) branch, Yedluri Jaya Paul, proprietor of Rasi Cotton Corporation R.G. Ramana Reddy, and approved panel engineer for teh bank K. Anjaneya Prasad. Paul and Ramana Reddy were awarded a sentence of five years simple imprisonment and fined Rs. 1 lakh and Rs. 1.5 lakh respectively. Anjaneya Prasad was sentenced to six months simple imprisonment and fined Rs. 50,000.
