ECoRSC office-bearers elected

K.S. Murthy has been re-elected president of the East Coast Railway Shramik Congress (E Co RSC) and RC Sahoo has been re-elected general secretary at the 7{+t}{+h}biennial general body meeting of the union, which concluded here on Wednesday.

The other office-bearers, who were unanimously elected, are: Tammineni Narasinga Rao working president, TV Mouleswara Rao, B. Satyanarayana, P. Balaramaswamy, J. Sampat Kumar and NSL Koteswara Rao (joint general secretaries), P.K. Rudra (additional joint secretary), M. Sanyasi Rao (vice president) and U. Eswara Rao (working committee member) and office secretary of E Co RSC/ Waltair.

Earlier at the inaugural session on Tuesday, General Manager of East Coast Railway Rajiv Vishnoi, who will be retiring from service at the end of this month, was felicitated by the union leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, the General Manager said ECoR was ranked No. 1 zone in loading for the last two years. It had achieved the distinction of being adjudged no. 1 for ‘overall performance’ last year. He called upon the workers and union representatives to strive to maintain that position in future also.

Divisional Railway Manager/Waltair Chandralekha Mukherjee and Chief Personnel Officer, E Co R/Bhubaneswar, Manju Ray recalled the contribution of the General Manager towards the growth of ECoR zone and in promoting healthy industrial relations.

General secretary of National Federation of Indian Railwaymen (NFIR) M. Raghavaiah said the proposed All-India Central government employees strike from July 11, against the retrograde recommendations of the Pay Commission, was deferred by four months on the assurance of the Centre to form a high-level committee to study the minimum wages.
