Cross country race at Sainik School

A cross country race was conducted by Sainik School, Korukonda, in Vizianagaram district. The race was conducted separately for junior cadets (class VI to VIII) and for senior cadets (IX to XII).

The senior cadets should run a distance of 7 km in 45 minutes, while the juniors should run a distance of 5 km in 35 minutes respectively.

To boost the morale of the students and to inspire them, school Principal Group Captain P. Ravi Kumar ran along with the students. He not only completed the race in the stipulated time of 45 minutes, but came ahead of many students.

Among the students, Cadet Karan Kumar came first, Cadet Badal Kumar came second and Cadet Gopal Bharan came third. In the senior division, Gupta House bagged the first position, while Pandya House bagged the first position in the junior division.

Addressing the students, the Principal said that race was conducted to develop physical stamina and confidence of the students.He complimented all the participants and gave away prizes to the winners.
