Contingency panel takes stock of security scenario

The 40th Regional Contingency Committee (RCC) meeting to discuss security-related issues and management of contingencies in various oil exploration and production blocks along the East Coast of India was held here recently.

The meeting held at the Headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command was chaired by Chief of Staff HQ ENC Vice Admiral Bimal Verma and attended by officials of the Indian Navy, Coast Guard, Intelligence and Security Agencies and the oil production and exploration agencies operating in the region.

During the meeting, the RCC committee took stock of the present security scenario, the steps taken by the operators and the support being provided by the central and state security agencies. Further, various measures to enhancement synergy of operation and mutual cooperation were also discussed.
