Book released

A book on ‘Emerging trends in value addition to plants and plant products’ was released by the Department of Botany of St. Joseph’s College for Women (Autonomous), here on Saturday.

The book was released by former principal of the college Dr. Sr. N. D. Veronica in the presence of Dr. Sr. Shyji, Principal and other faculty members.

The book is a collection of five resource lectures by eminent scientists from reputed National Research Institutes such as CIMAP, NBPGR, ANGRAU-RARS and Post Harvest Centre. It also contains details of about 90 research and review papers on various aspects of value addition in agriculture, horticulture, food science, agro forestry, biotechnology and Medicinal botany.

The book was edited by Dr. K. Manikya Kumari, Head, Department of Botany, and has a message from Dr. M. S. Swaminathan.
