Seven held during cordon and search drive

The city police took into custody seven crime suspects at Ajith Singh Nagar and Krishna Lanka on Wednesday during a cordon and search operation conducted by respective police station personnel. Also, 50 vehicles with no proper records have been seized.

Around 150 policemen, including four ACPs, four circle inspectors, and 18 sub-inspectors of city cordoned off New Rajarajeswaripeta of Singh Nagar and Ranigarithota of Krishna Lanka.

Persons who failed to provide any identification documents and in records of police stations have been taken into custody in view of recent reports on movement of rowdies in Moghalrajpuram, police officials said.

On Tuesday, similar operation was conducted in Moghalrajpuram area by Machavaram police.
