Rs. 3 lakh given to kin of RTC driver

Assistant Labour Commissioner (ACL) D. Anjaneya Reddy on Monday handed over Rs. 3-lakh cheque to the kin of APSRTC driver Mohammad Mustaq who died in a road accident.

Mr. Mustaq met with a road accident at Hayatnagar while on duty on February 1 this year. The amount was given by the Andhra Pradesh Labour Welfare Board to his family members, said the ACL.

AP Labour Welfare Board was extending financial aid to the workers for their daughters’ marriages, scholarships for labourers’ children, maternity benefits and funeral expenses, Mr. Reddy said and appealed to the employees working in shops, factories, transport organisations and other establishments to enrol themselves as members in the board.

Applications were available at the Labour Department Office, located at Suryaraopet in Vijayawada.
