Raghuveera calls on man who attempted suicide

August 30, 2015 05:20 pm | Updated March 29, 2016 06:11 pm IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President N. Raghuveera Reddy deplored the TDP leaders for taking the Central Government’s promise on Special Category Status (SCS) lightly and warned them against treating the people’s sentiments with disdain.

Addressing media persons after calling on S. Durga Prasad of Chebrole in West Godavari District who attempted suicide purportedly for the SCS and is undergoing treatment at the Government General Hospital in Guntur on Sunday, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said it was unfortunate that the BJP had backed out of its promise and the TDP chose to downplay the issue due to its compulsions.

Demanding that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu leverage his clout with the BJP to make it deliver its promise, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy appealed to the people not to resort to suicides in an emotional state and instead help the Opposition parties in fighting for the cause.
