Police seize Rs. 10 lakh cash

Officials of Static Surveillance Team confiscated Rs.10 lakh being carried without any documents in violation of the Model Code of Conduct in Vijayawada West Assembly Constituency.

During vehicle checking, the Two-Town police and the surveillance team intercepted a car at West railway station entrance on Thursday and found a trader M.A. Alim Khan carrying the amount. Mr. Khan failed to produce any documents pertaining to the cash.

Vijayawada West Assembly Constituency Special Officer D. Anjaneya Reddy said the case would be transferred to Income-Tax Department for further investigation, he said.
