Nandyal MLA Bhuma Nagi Reddy has challenged YSR Congress president Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy to spell out whether the YSRC would be wound up if he got re-elected from the Nandyal constituency.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Mr. Nagi Reddy said his daughter Akhila Priya (Allagadda), S. V. Mohan Reddy (Kurnool) and himself were ready to tender their resignations and contest again. Mr. Jagan has choice to say who should resign. “We are ready for it,” he said, adding, “if Mr. Jagan is brave enough he should accept our challenge.”

Mr. Nagi Reddy took exception to Mr. Jagan’s remarks that the MLAs were sold out to the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). The comments were unwarranted. Instead of discussing party affairs, Mr. Jagan was fuming and fretting at MLAs who left his party. Mr. Jagan was making baseless allegations against the defected MLAs. If he continued to cast aspersions on them, he would have to face severe consequences, the Nandyal MLA said.

“Mr. Jagan has no respect for seniors in the party. There was no future for us in the YSR Congress. In addition, the government policies and development attracted us,” he said.

“My family has been in politics since British rule. There was no dearth of money for us. More than money power, we have public support. Else it was not possible to sustain in politics for so many decades,” he said.

Mr. Nagi Reddy, his daughter and Mr. Mohan Reddy switched loyalties to the TDP about three months ago. Mr. Reddy and his daughter met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu at the camp office.

Our family members are ready to tender resignation and contest again.
