Make proper use of water for pushkaram: CM

August 05, 2016 12:00 am | Updated 06:08 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has instructed officials to make judicious use of the water coming from Almatti and Jurala projects and fill all reservoirs. By doing so, enough water can be made available for pilgrims taking part in the Krishna Pushkaram.

Speaking to Collectors and other officials of Krishna, Guntur and Kurnool districts through a teleconference here on Thursday, Mr. Naidu said that arrangements should be made in such a manner that people return home with satisfaction.

The experiences during the Godavari Maha Pushkaram should be drawn upon for making foolproof arrangements, he added.

Mr. Naidu said that the Irrigation and Water Resources Department prepared an action plan for water management for the river festival. It should be implemented in letter and spirit for the best results. He wanted that priority be given to barricading at the bathing ghats to prevent any untoward incident.
