Finally, the Krishna district administration has decided to complete the Inner Ring Road (IRR) works, as traffic from Hyderabad to Visakhapatnam and other regions will be diverted via IRR, once the Kanaka Durga flyover works commence.
The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has already issued the land acquisition notification for the construction of the flyover. Krishna Collector Babu A. on Thursday met officials, contractors and company representatives involved in the flyover project at Gunadala. Representatives of 14 companies attended the meeting.
During the meeting, Mr. Babu said nearly 60 girders had to be constructed within a short span of time, and they included 32 girders on the canals. The works have to be completed in a time-bound manner, and necessary raw materials will be supplied to contractors to avoid delay, he added.
The flyover works will commence in 45 days, in which case, traffic from Hyderabad and Visakhapatnam will be diverted via IRR. “Priority should be given to companies, which take up works without compromising on quality and complete them within the time limit,” the Collector said.
