Heat wave conditions in 71 mandals

: Heat wave conditions prevailed in 71 of the 670 mandals in the last 24 hours in the State, according to the IMD AWS data made available on Saturday night.

According to the analysis based on humidity and maximum recorded temperature, normal conditions are predicted in most of the mandals, warm conditions in 18 mandals, but “very hot” or “hot” conditions will not prevail in any of the 670 mandals in the next 48 hours.

Till date, 29 heat stroke-related deaths have been reported by District Collectors. The number of deaths in different districts is: Kadapa 12, Prakasam 11, Kurnool 3, Srikakulam 2 and Anantapur 1.
