In a laudable display of solidarity, the city gurdwara, which represents the Sikh community here, hosted ‘Roza Iftar’ on Sunday for the Muslim fraternity.

Members of the Sri Guru Singh Sabha organised the special Iftar party at the gurdwara in Gurunanak Colony where the Muslim men ended their day-long fast and offered prayers.

Members of the Sikh community, including elders and youngsters, came forward and served food, including sweets, fruits, rose milk, and other special items to the men.

“In a bid to display communal harmony as an NGO striving for national integration we have approached the representatives of gurdwara on a proposal of having Iftar here. We have also approached the Muslim fraternity. They instantly agreed to it and came forward to do their part in spreading solidarity,” said Youth Welfare, A.P. president Farooq Suhil.
