CPE status for KBN, Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala

Kakaraparti Bhavanarayana (KBN) College and Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala in the city have been granted the status of College with Potential for Excellence (CPE) by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Of the 32 colleges that applied seeking qualification for the status in Andhra Pradesh, 13 of them have been given the same. Of them, six are engineering colleges and the remaining arts and science colleges. Among the seven arts and science colleges, three are Government colleges while four are aided institutions. Grant of CPE status will bring in funds to the tune of Rs. 1.5 crore which will enable these colleges to augment facilities like research, infrastructure and other basic amenities.
