City youth to attend UN Youth Assembly session

City youth Naga Sravan Kilaru has received an invitation to attend the United Nations Youth Assembly as an international delegate.

The event is scheduled to be held at the UN headquarters in New York from August 10 to 12.

Theme

The theme of the session is ‘Turning Vision into Reality: Paving roadmap for 2030 for Implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

“Of the 149 countries, India ranks 110{+t}{+h}in implementation of SDGs and I am curious to learn from my peers about implementation of the goals in their respective countries. I am also keen on knowing about the role of youth in development projects in other countries,” says Mr. Sravan Kumar. Youth attending the session will form teams and work on proposals for youth initiatives.

“I am currently working with my fellow participants from Canada, US, Brazil, Malaysia and a few other countries to formulate proposals on youth involvement in policy-making and utilisation of youth services for implementation of SDGs,” he says. Mr. Sravan Kumar will also attend the 71{+s}{+t}United Nations General Assembly to be addressed by Prime Ministers, Presidents and Ministers from 193 nations.
