BJP gets ready with ‘Plan B’

April 18, 2014 01:04 am | Updated May 21, 2016 11:53 am IST - VIJAYAWADA:

The BJP is getting ready to field candidates for two parliamentary constituencies -- Vijayawada and Machilipatnam and 16 Assembly seats in Krishna district amidst reports that its alliance with TDP was on the verge of breaking.

It has short-listed names of probable candidates for all those constituencies and asked them to be ready to file their nomination papers on April 19.“The names have been sent to our president K. Haribabu and Daggubati Purandeswari who is heading the party’s election campaign committee. As per indications (on Thursday), the alliance appears to be doomed but the picture will become clear by Friday night,” said party city president D. Umamaheswara Raju.
