Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra, led by CPI State Secretary K. Ramakrishna, reached the city on Tuesday. The yatra is being organised demanding reservation in private sector and Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

The yatra, which began at Icchapuram in Srikakulam district, passed through Vizianagaram, Visakhapatnam East and West Godavari districts before entering the city. The yatra would cover all 175 Assembly constituencies in the State before culminating at Hindupur in Anantapur district.

Samajika Nyaya Sankharavam was organised on the occasion. Communist Party of India (CPI) national secretary K. Narayana, Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) state executive member Ch. Babu Rao and others, addressing the gathering, stressed on the need for reservation in the private sector.

Mr. Narayana and others explained the need for SCS and wondered why Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu compromised on State interests.
