A large number of devotees witnessed the special pujas at the ‘yaga salai’ for the maha samprokshanam of Srirangam Sri Ranganathaswamy Remple here on Monday night.

Elaborate arrangements have been made for performing the ‘yaga salai’ puja i at the 1,000-pillar mandapam at the temple. The ‘maha samprokshanam’ of the temple, in the first phase, will be performed on Wednesday. Religious fervour gripped the area when the pujas commenced.

It was a year ago in June 2014 that a special Sudarshana homam was performed at this mandapam marking the inauguration of the works allied with the renovation.

R. Kamaraj, Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowment (HR & CE), P. Jeyaraman, Joint Commissioner, were present.
