Guruvayur Express suffers detention

The Chennai-bound Guruvayur Express suffered a detention for over an hour at the Railway Junction here after the overhead power cable of its locomotive snapped triggering sparks as the train was arriving at the junction on Saturday afternoon.

The pantograph of the locomotive was reported to have been damaged. Subsequently, the train was hauled up to Srirangam. It continued its journey with another electric locomotive from Srirangam.
