Family for safe return of driver

The family of T. Manivel, the LPG tanker driver, who is stuck in Solur in Karnataka after being attacked by a violent mob during the protests on the Cauvery issue there a few days ago, has sought the assistance of the district administration to ensure his safe return home.

Mr. Manivel, a resident of Kalparai near Thathaiyengarpet, is stuck on the premises of Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited at Solur since September 12. Videos of the attack on him went viral on social media.

His wife, Kangavalli, submitted a petition to the Revenue Divisional Officer, Musiri, requesting the authorities to ensure the safe return of Mr. Manivel. The couple’s two young children and Manivel’s father Thiyagarajan accompanied her.

The family members expressed hope that the State government would initiate action to help his return. The RDO assured to forward their peition it to the government through the Collector.
