Distribution of voter slips begins in Trichy

Distribution of photo voters slips began in Tiruchi East and Tiruchi West Assembly constituencies on Saturday.

The slips would be distributed door-to-door till April 18. Booth-level officers of 239 polling stations in Tiruchi East and 256 polling stations in Tiruchi West would distribute the slips among voters of respective polling stations.

Corporation Commissioner V.P. Thandapani on Saturday inspected the distribution process and handed over the slips to a few voters in some parts of the city.Voters have been requested to ensure receipts of the slips through responsible family members. The Election Commission has permitted candidates or their polling agents to accompany the officials during the distribution of the slips. The schedule of the distribution streetwise has been notified at the respective polling stations and the Corporation zonal offices.

On April 19 and 20, the slips, which were not received during the door-to-door exercise, would be distributed at the respective polling stations. Those who were not able to receive the slips on these days will get another chance to do so from the polling stations on April 24, Mr. Thandapani said in a release.
