Will oppose move to deny decent wages: CITU

: The CITU State secretariat has said that it would oppose any move to deny decent wages to workers.

A press note issued by the Secretariat here on Tuesday pointed out that majority of workers in the traditional and unorganised sectors were getting meagre wages. It observed that the neoliberal policies of the government were making the affluent sections richer while pushing the poorer sections deeper into deprivation.

It said the government had failed to bring the managements round to a fair settlement of the strike by estate workers.
