Union protests against funds curbs for PSC

The Kerala PSC Employees Union has protested against the government stance in delaying funds to meet the routine functions of the Public Service Commission (PSC).

Union general secretary V.B. Manu Kumar said in a statement here on Thursday that the commission owed Rs.5 crore to various educational institutions which had provided classrooms and premises for conducting written examinations, practical, and physical efficiency tests and interviews.

The commission has scheduled to conduct a physical efficiency test for uniformed forces on September 26 and a written examination for four lakh candidates for recruiting police constables on September 28. Any delay in conducting the tests would dampen the dreams of scores of people, mainly the weaker sections .
