Two killed, two injured in accident

Two youths were killed and two seriously injured after the motorcycles they were travelling in collided at Karumkulam, near Poovar, on Saturday.

According to the Kanjiramkulam police, the deceased are Aneesh, 27, of Mavilakkadavu, and Rinson Miranda, 26, of Karumkulam. The incident is believed to have occurred on the Vizhinjam-Poovar road by around 1.30 a.m. Sarath, 17, of Mavilakkadavu, and Anu Alfred, 24, of Puthiyathura, who sustained injuries are being treated at the Medical College hospital.

With the accident occurring during the wee hours of the day, precious time could have been lost before the police and personnel from the Poovar fire station rushed the four persons to the hospital, police sources said.

Though it is yet to be confirmed, the police believe that Aneesh and Rinson were riding the motorcycles.

After the collision, all four persons were thrown off to the road.
