The Hindu chess tourney for students

: A two-day chess competition being organised by The Hindu and presented by Thyrocare will begin at Sarvodaya ICSE School, Bethany Hills, Nalanchira, here on Tuesday.

Minister for Electricity Kadakampally Surendran will inaugurate it at 9 a.m.

Mayor V.K. Prasanth will be the chief guest.

The second round of the contest will be held on Wednesday. District Collector Biju Prabhakar will give away the prizes. Contestants should bring chess sets and clocks. School identity cards are a must. Thyrocare is the title sponsor. Hotel Hycinth, Thiruvananthapuram, Club Mahindra, and Vasan Dental Care are the co-sponsors.
