Padmarajan awards announced

Pathemaari and Adhvaana Vetta have bagged the 24th Padmarajan awards instituted by the Padmarajan Memorial Trust for the best movie and the best short story respectively.

Pathemaari , written and directed by Salim Ahmed, captures the hardships faced by non-resident Keralites. Salim Ahmad will get cash awards of Rs.20,000 and Rs.10,000 and mementos, being the director and scriptwriter of the movie. The winner was selected by a jury comprising T.K. Rajeev Kumar, Gandhimathi Balan, and Manoj. — A Correspondent

Adhvaana Vetta , written by E.P. Sreekumar, tells the story of helpless human lives, vulnerable to the present day pressures of life and exploited by latest technology.

The awards will be presented on May 23 at a function here.
