Journalist found dead

A 34-year-old journalist, employed with a news channel here, was found dead on the railway track near Kazhakuttam on Friday.

The deceased has been identified as Aneesh Chandran, who hailed from East Kallada in Kollam. He was a chief broadcast journalist at Asianet News. According to the Thumba police, the body was found by a group of local residents around 8 a.m. “His head was found to be severed from the body. We suspect the death to be a case of suicide. However, the actual cause could be ascertained only after a probe. A case of unnatural death has been registered,” an official said. The identity of the deceased was known from an identity card that was recovered from the body. The body was handed over to the deceased’s family after conducting post-mortem at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital.
