International book fair from today

The 23{+r}{+d}international book fair and cultural festival, organised by DC Books, will begin at the Chandrasekharan Nair stadium on Wednesday.

The annual event, which will be inaugurated by poet Sugathakumari, will see the participation of 350 publishers from the country and abroad putting on display around 10 lakh books.

Varied fare

Apart from academic books covering medical science, engineering, management, law, arts, philosophy, nursing and environment, the fair will also have books from the fields of history, literature and music. Prominent names in the publishing industry such as Penguin, Harper Collins, Oxford University Press, and Cambridge University Press will participate in the fair.

During the course of the 14-day fair, books of several authors will be released.
