BJP: bring down liquor consumption

June 27, 2016 12:00 am | Updated October 18, 2016 03:03 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) State unit president Kummanam Rajasekharan has urged the government to ensure that any change in the liquor policy does not result in a rise in liquor consumption.

In a statement here on Sunday, Mr. Rajasekharan said it was disturbing to note that despite the State accounting for less than 4 per cent of the country’s population, it stood in the forefront in liquor consumption. Statistics showed that the UDF government’s liquor policy had not had any positive impact. — Special Correspondent
