Parthagali Mutt seer arrives for Chaturmasa Vrata

Vidyadhiraj Teerth Sripad Vader Swami of Gokarna Parthagali Jeevotham Mutt, Parthagali, Goa, arrived here on Thursday evening, for undertaking the Chaturmasa Vrata at Gokarna Mutt on Car Street.

A release from the Chaturmasa Committee here said the swami made the “Pura Pravesha” at 7 p.m. ahead of undertaking the vrata on July 24.

He would undertake the vrata till September 16. This would be the Suvarna Chaturmasa Vrata of the Swami.

One of the three mutts of Gowda Saraswat community, the Gokarna Mutt is over 540 years old and Vidyadhiraj Teerth is the 23rd seer of the mutt, the release said.

The Chaturmasa Vrata would witness various social, cultural and other events besides the religious programmes.

The committee will conduct programmes such as skill India, startup India, and career guidance programmes for students as part of the social events during the Chaturmasa programme.

It will also conduct yoga camps, blood donation camps, home remedy camps, seminars on lifestyle diseases as part of its health programme.

Under its environment events, the committee plans to organise Swachh Bharath campaigns on Sundays and also donate 25 ready-to-use concrete toilets to government schools and public places at a cost of Rs. 3.5 lakh each.

More than 50,000 devotees from across the country are expected to attend the programmes.
