Mangalore University, which is offering Master of Business Administration (International Business) course at its University College, Hampankatta, here, has added merit seats for the course for the first time from the academic year 2016-17. All seats were payment category seats till the last academic year. The university has increased the maximum intake of students from 33 students last year to 46 students for the current academic year. The intake is as follows: 16 merit seats, 20 payment category seats and 10 special category seats.
The college offered the course in evenings to enable working professionals to pursue the course.
The fee for first year for a merit seat would be Rs. 33,455 and for payment category it would be Rs. 55,455.
With this, meritorious students could also pursue the course, Udaya Kumar Irvathur, principal of the college, said. A faculty of the MBA Department at the university said that the university has also increased the merit category seats of its MBA (Travel and Tourism Management) course offered on the university campus from the current academic year. With this, more local students could join the course under the merit category.
