Home Guard felicitated

Raghavendra, a Home Guard, who recently rescued a seven-year old girl from drowning in the Arabian Sea, was felicitated here on Wednesday. District Commandant Murali Mohan Choonthar felicitated him in the presence of senior police officials.

A group of 15 people from Ananthapura in Tamil Nadu had been to Ullal on May 11. One among them, Muskaan, was dragged into the Sea by strong currents. Mr. Raghavendra, who was working as Pravasi Mitra at Ullal Beach, jumped into the sea and brought the girl to the shore before administering her the first aid. Superintendent of Police Bhushan G. Borase and Deputy Commandant Home Guards Ramesh were present, said a press release.
