Case filed against Bajrang Dal activists

December 26, 2015 12:00 am | Updated March 24, 2016 12:09 pm IST - MANGALURU:

The Mangaluru East (Kadri) police registered cases against Bajrang Dal Mangaluru city co-convener Puneet Raj Kottari and 22 others on the charge of posting hate comments on social networking sites against social activist Vidya Dinker.

The accused had posted comments against Ms. Dinker, coordinator of Citizens Forum for Mangalore Development, after she lodged a police complaint against Bajrang Dal activists for stalling the screening of Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer Dilwale in Mangaluru.

While Kottari’s alleged post was removed soon after, posts on his Facebook account, Veera Kesari, continued to remain. The posts, among other things, stated that Ms. Dinker cannot in anyway rein in Bajrang Dal activists. There were also several derogatory remarks.

The police said that they are investigating the case.
